This week we are shopping for raw fruits and vegetables, yogurt, cheese, and a small quantity of meat and fish. We will be making the spicy condiment, Adzhika. This recipe includes Khmeli-Suneli, a blend of herbs and spices unique to this mountainous region. We will use this condiment with meat for our first Abkhazian meal tomorrow. In addition to learning more facts about this country neighboring Georgia on the Eastern coast of the Black Sea, we will eat light and low-calorie meals just as they do. This area is known for their people living very long lives. We will take from this knowledge to better our own lives and health.
